The final prayer we always say at the end of worship services, prayer meetings, and fellowship sessions is found in 2 Corinthians 13:14, saying, “May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

So, we want to start with the first part of this salutation, which says, “may the grace of the lord… be with you.”

This salutation is common in Apostle Paul’s letters to churches. Sometimes it is at the beginning, at other times, it is at the end.

In 1 Cor. 1:3, he says, “Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”

In Gal. 6:18, he says, “Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.”

So, what is Grace?

Grace is God’s kindness, benevolence, or favor towards the undeserving, leading to forgiveness and blessings that we didn’t earn.

In other letters, the statement serves as a farewell or final message (1 Thess.). 5:28; 2 Thess. 3:18; Heb. 13:25; 1 Cor. 16:23

Grace is God’s character. It is simply what He does – Exo. 34:6 says the Lord is gracious.

Grace brings us favor and goodness, despite our weakness:

When Adam and Eve sinned, they found themselves naked, but because God is gracious, He made clothes for them (Gen. 3:21).

  • Pray for the grace that removes shame.

God’s grace teaches and helps us to renounce sin – Titus 2:11-14

  • Lord, I need the grace that overcomes sins.

Someone described God’s grace as “God’s riches at Christ’s expense.”

Yeah, imagine if we still must make sacrifices to atone for sins. I believe it will be expensive and time-consuming. But praise God for the grace we found through Jesus Christ, who died once and for all.

Grace of the Lord brought us salvation. The Bible says we are saved by grace – Eph. 2:8-9

  • Lord, sustain your salvation grace in my life; Don’t allow me to ever walk away from your salvation program.

Prayer

  • Lord, give me grace to always be still and know you are in control.

Prayers

  • Lord, grant me the grace for the sick to become healed (James 5:14-15)
  • Lord, grant me the grace for the pregnant woman to deliver safely.
  • Lord, grant me the grace to trust God in our challenges.
