Roman’s 10:14-15
” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
These statements in verses 14 and 15 come from a man (Apostle Paul) who had a desire for his people to be saved. In Rom. 10:1, he says, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.“
This is what we call eagerness of God in our church.
For all of us who have been saved, we want to begin with an attempt to answer such questions as:
(1) What benefits have salvation brought into our own lives?
(2) Who is now benefiting from our salvation?
For the first question, although individuals may come up with various personal enjoyment of salvation, we could list some general benefits:
(1) The salvation itself (John 3:16)
(2) Adoption into God’s family (Eph. 1:5)
(3) We are forgiven (1 Cor. 6:11)
(4) We are reconciled to God (Romans 5:10; 2 Cor. 5)
List more …
Then if we are enjoying these advantages because someone brought us the good news of Jesus, we are led to ask if anyone can claim to be benefiting from our salvation.
Jude 1:23 tells us to “save others, snatching them out of the fire; …”
When we preach the gospel of Jesus to others and they accept it, they begin to enjoy the benefit of being snatched out of fire.
Further, James 5:20 says that anyone who turns a sinner from sin saves his soul.
When we turn a sinner from sin, such a person begins to enjoy the benefit of salvation.
Am I snatching people out of fire? Am I rising to save a soul?
God wants us to save people, having them enjoy what we are enjoying in His kingdom.
This is why we are going to be focusing on soul-winning more intensely in this church than ever before from now on, by God’s grace.
I, therefore, wish to appeal to the leadership and membership of this church to support and participate in this effort of soul-winning teachings and exercises that is beginning in earnest. Souls are perishing and were must care enough to rescue them.
May the spirit of selflessness and concern for others come upon us heavily in Jesus’ name. God bless you richly with the eagerness of God for this generation. Amen.
